Gay Camping began as a small Facebook group grounded in connection, community, and a shared love for the outdoors. What started as a few posts and friendly conversations has grown into something truly meaningful—a vibrant network of LGBTQ+ campers brought together through shared experiences, laughter, and some unforgettable weekends at places like Eagle Creek Campground.
Our mission is simple: to help LGBTQ+ folks discover safe, welcoming, and inclusive campgrounds across Canada—and to make it easier for more people to experience the freedom, joy, and belonging that camping can offer.

Our mission is simple: to help LGBTQ+ folks discover safe, welcoming, and inclusive campgrounds across Canada—and to make it easier for more people to experience the freedom, joy, and belonging that camping can offer.
WHO WE ARE
Two guys, one camper (and a whole lot of passion).
We’re Mikey and Alex—partners in life, camping, and small business. We stumbled across Eagle Creek Campground on a whim, and after just one visit, we were hooked. By our second trip, we were full-time seasonals, completely in love with the campground, the people, and the feeling of being surrounded by chosen family.
That love turned into action. We knew other gays deserved this same experience—one where they could show up as themselves, feel safe, and connect with nature and community without fear or judgment. So, we started organizing events, growing our online group, and building something bigger.
We also run a print and design company, Flave Print, where we produce all of our apparel and merch in-house. That means every hoodie, tee, tumbler, or tote bag you see in our shop is designed and created by us—so when you support Gay Camping, you’re supporting a queer-owned small business from start to finish.

Looking to get out there but don’t have your own setup? No problem. On campgay.ca, you can rent RVs, trailers, or fully equipped tents from LGBTQ+ owners and allies across the country. We’ve made it easy and affordable, with a flat monthly listing fee (instead of the high commission rates you’ll find on other platforms), so you’re directly supporting community members while keeping costs low.
Shop GAY Campwear & Outdoor Merch
We also just launched our online store, packed with apparel, drinkware, and accessories designed to bring your love for the outdoors to life—on a hoodie, a tumbler, or a tee. And for the style-conscious camper, check out Alder & Ash—our premium, vintage-inspired clothing line, designed and produced in-house by us, two gay small business owners who believe camping can be cozy and couture.
